MUMBAI — Brazilian aerospace prime Embraer and India’s Mahindra Group have identified Nagpur, Maharashtra, as the proposed location for a C-390 Millennium Final Assembly Line, the companies announced on October 1, 2026.
The joint initiative aims to establish local manufacturing, assembly, and integration capabilities to support the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) acquisition program. The proposal remains contingent on the Government of India selecting the C-390 Millennium for the MTA requirement. Working alongside the Government of Maharashtra, the partnership plans to develop a comprehensive domestic aerospace ecosystem covering local supply chain integration, MRO services, and lifecycle support in alignment with India’s “Make in India” defense initiative.
